16 Troubleshooting

The multimeter was designed using the latest technology and is safe to use. How-
ever, problems and malfunctions may still occur.
This section tells you how to troubleshoot possible faults:
Always observe the safety information in these instructions.
Problem
The multimeter does
not work.
The measured value
does not change.
No measurement
possible with the
current clamp
The multimeter can-
not take measure-
ments in the mA/µA
range.
Any repair work other than that described above must be carried out by
an authorized technician. If you have questions about the multimeter,
please contact our technical support team.
Possible cause
Is the battery flat?
Have you selected the
wrong measurement
mode (AC/DC)?
Did you use the wrong
measurement sockets?
Is the hold function
enabled?
Is the current clamp
switched on?
Was the wrong mode
(AC/DC) selected on
the multimeter?
The F2 fuse is blown.
Suggested solution
Check the battery level and
replace if necessary.
Check the display (AC/DC)
and select another mode if
necessary.
Check that the test leads are
connected to the correct ter-
minals.
Disable the hold function.
Check the operating indica-
tor.
Replace the batteries.
Check the settings on the
multimeter.
Replace the F2 fuse with a
new one.
