See figs. 9 and 10 for how to assemble
double cable end boxes:
Undo the 2 fixing screws, Item 4, and the 3
fixing screws, Item 12, of the top, Item 10, and
remove the top
Loosen the semicircular clamping pieces, Item
5
14, of the strain relief Adapt the cable sleeves,
Item 13, to suit the cable diameter and pull over
the connection cable
Then screw the semicircular clamping pieces,
Item 14, of the strain relief securely onto the
strain relief clamp again
Once the cable has been fitted, secure the
cable sleeve with the respective cable clamp,
Item 8
Finally, replace the top, Item 10, and fix
securely in position with the fixing screws,
Items 4 and 12, and refit the strain relief, Item 14
7
Seal the unused entry opening of the double
cable end box with a blanking plug, Item 5,
(Order No GHG 740 1993 R0003)
Warning: To guarantee the IP degree of
protection, it is necessary to ensure that the
seal, Item 6, is fitted correctly.
When using cable entries with a degree of
protection that is lower than the IP protection of
the apparatus (see Technical Data, pages 26),
the degree of IP protection for the complete
unit is reduced
The colour-coded (light blue) cable entries shall
be used for leading-in the intrinsically safe
circuits
In order to ensure the minimum degree of
protection, any unused entry holes shall be
sealed with certified blanking plugs
When fitting cable entries, it is necessary to
ensure that the sealing inserts used are suitable
for the cable diameter
!
When using apparatus or cable entries for
the connection to or into the apparatus, when
applicable, the relevant special conditions for
safe use given in the individual certificates shall
be considered
In the case of sealing inserts that are cut to
size, it is necessary to ensure that the insert is
properly adapted to the cable diameter
In order to ensure the required minimum
8
degree of protection, the cable entries shall be
tightened down securely
Overtightening can impair the degree of
protection.
Metal cable glands have to screw in with the
relevant test torque in cap 11.
13
Warning: When tightening the cap nut of the
metal cable entry (e.g. type ADE/e),
a suitable tool shall be used to stop the
gland from twisting.
Any unused metric Cooper Crouse-Hinds /
CEAG cable entries shall be sealed with the
certified blanking plug for metric cable entries
6.4

Flanges and metal plates

If flange plates of moulded plastic enclosures
are to be mounted (eg after drilling entry
holes), to maintain the minimum protection
category it is necessary to ensure that the
flange plate and the fixing clamp are fixed
correctly
The flange plates of stainless enclosures shall
be mounted in such a way that the IP degree of
protection is maintained Here it is necessary to
pay attention to the exact fit of the sealing
element
PE conductors fed from outside are to be
connected to the PE terminal provided on
the flange. The maximum terminal cross
section is 50 mm².
Warning: Metal enclosures, metal flanges,
metal plates and metal glands shall be
incorporated in the potential equalization.
6.5

Closing apparatus

Any foreign matter shall be removed from
the apparatus.
When replacing the enclosure cover, it is
necessary to ensure that the switch shafts
of the switch inserts are fitted correctly into
the carrier openings of the switch handles.
In addition to this, it is also necessary to
ensure that the front actuator elements
match the built-in components.
To ensure the minimum protection category,
the cover screws shall be tightened down
securely
Overtightening can impair the degree of
protection.
Warning:
To ensure the minimum protection category,
the MCB flap shall be closed with a suitable
socket-head spanner (M8). (Marking of lock
position indicator shall be set to Zu/Closed)
