Selecting preset stations

o When in preset mode, turn the main unit MULTI JOG dial or
use the remote control k and j buttons to select a preset
station.
o You can also use the main unit or remote control number but-
tons to directly enter a preset number, and press the ENTER
button to select that station.

Clearing preset assignments

1.
Select the current source for the presets to be cleared (FM).
(see "Selecting the playback source" on page 19)
2.
Press and hold the main unit or remote control CLEAR button.
The following message will appear on the Home Screen.

Press the main unit MULTI JOG dial or remote control ENTER
button.
After all preset assignments for the current source have been
cleared, the Home Screen reopens.
NOTE
Press the main unit or remote control CLEAR button to cancel
the operation and return to the Home Screen.

Setting the tuner broadcast outputs

You can set whether tuner broadcast signals are output from the
TUNER OUT jacks only or from all the main unit jacks (TUNER OUT,
LINE OUT, DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL, OPTICAL) and PHONES
jacks).

Select the Tuner Out Sel. item on the Menu screen to open
the Tuner Out Sel. screen. (see "Menu operation proce-
dures" on page 15)

Set the outputs for sounds from the tuner.

Tuner broadcast signals are output from

Confirm the setting and return to the Menu screen.
NOTE
The tuner audio output setting is retained even when the unit
is turned off.

RDS (Radio Data System)

The Radio Data System (RDS) is a broadcasting service that allows
stations to send additional information along with the regular radio
program signal.
o RDS works on the FM frequency band in Europe only.
1.
Tune in to an FM RDS station. (see "Tuning in radio stations" on
page 33)
2.
Press the main unit DISPLAY/RDS/INFO button or remote
control DISPLAY/RDS/INFO [PAIRING] button to cycle
through the following RDS modes.
Program service (PS)
RDS Program type (PTY)
RDS Radio text (RT)

PTY search

You can search for stations by program type. This function is avail-
able only through the RDS services of FM frequency stations in
Europe.
1.
Press the main unit SHIFT button to activate shift mode (SHIFT
indicator lit), and press the 5 [A-B REP] button.
The remote control A-B REP button can also be pressed.
PTY SEARCH appears on the display.
2.
Turn the main unit MULTI JOG dial or use the remote control
.// [l/;] buttons to select the desired program.
You can select from 31 program types (PTY).
3.
Press the main unit MULTI JOG dial or remote control ENTER
button to confirm the selection.
