Basic Vanilla Soymilk

Soymilk – delicious and healthy!
What is so special about soymilk? There are
many reasons for this – it not only tastes re-
ally delicious, but it is also extremely healthy!
It is rich in protein, important vital substances,
as well as a multitude of vitamins, minerals,
and protein. It only contains small amounts of
saturated fatty acids, but is rich in unsatura-
ted fatty acids. Besides this, it is a source of
lecithin and vitamin E. There are 20 different
amino acids in the healthy milk of the soy-
bean, including amino acids that the human
body cannot produce itself. And last but not
least, soymilk gently regulates your digestion.
Soymilk is not only for people with a lactose
intolerance or milk allergy, it is also a perfect
alternative to cow milk for diabetics or for
people on a low-cholesterol diet. After one
drink of tasty soymilk, many a milk drinker
has acquired a taste for soymilk and become
a soymilk enthusiast!

Vanilla Soymilk
Make soymilk using Soyabella according to
instructions on page 30. When soymilk has
been made, add:
• 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 tablespoons agave nectar
Many fl avourings can be added to your soy-
milk. Don't be afraid to experiment. Besides
vanilla extract, try using rice syrup, agave
nectar, molasses or carob powder. A coffee
measuring spoon is a good place to start for
gauging the amount of powder to use.
Enthusiast food stores, health food stores and
many coffee emporiums sell syrups to make
fl avoured coffees. These syrups (i.e. caramel
fl avour) can also be used to fl avour your soy,
rice, or oat milk.
Salty Soymilk
Soymilk doesn't have to be sweet to be tasty.
A Chinese recipe calls for plain soy milk being
poured into a bowl over a mixture of chopped
green onions, sea salt, pieces of dried shrimp,
and pickled vegetables.
