Safety / drain valve

 The manufacturer can install one of the two de-
scribed drain valves (A, B) in the vehicle� Observe
the operating instructions for the safety / drain valve
installed in your vehicle
A. FrostControl
(safety / drain valve with integrated frost protection)
FrostControl is a currentless safety / drain valve� When
there is a danger of frost, it automatically drains the
contents of the water container through a drainage
socket� If excessive pressure is present in the system,
pressure will be automatically intermittently equalized
through the pressure relief valve�
The valve can be opened manually to drain the water
from the water system� For example, to clean the water
tank, when there is a risk of frost and before long peri-
ods when the vehicle will not be used (winter storage)�

5.5.1 Manual opening of the FrostControl
Turn the rotary switch 180° until it engages�
The pushbutton pops out (position Fig� 9-1)� The
water from the water container drains through the
drainage socket (Fig� 9-4)�
The FrostControl drainage socket must be free of con-
tamination (slush, ice, leaves, etc�) at all times so that
the water can drain out easily!
No frost damage claims may be made under the
warranty.
5.5.2 Manual closing of the FrostControl
Check that the rotary switch is set to "operation"
(Fig� 9-3), i�e� is parallel to the water connection, and
is engaged�
Press the pushbutton to close the FrostControl� The
pushbutton must engage in the position "closed"
(Fig� 9-2)�

Only when the temperature at the FrostControl is above
approx� 7 °C can it be closed manually with the push-
button (Position Fig� 9-2) and the water container be
filled�
5.5.3 Automatic opening of the FrostControl
If the temperature at the FrostControl is below about
3 °C, it opens automatically and the pushbutton pops
out (Fig� 9-1)� The water from the water container drains
through the drainage socket (Fig� 9-4)�
NOTICE
Unlimited loss of water if the FrostControl
is open
If the vehicle is supplied via an external water
connection and FrostControl triggers automat-
ically, water will drain from the vehicle un-
checked�
Close the external water connection when
the vehicle is unsupervised�
B. Drain valve
(safety / drain valve without frost protection)
The drain valve automatically equalises the pressure in
the event of overpressure in the system� When this oc-
curs, the water is drained to the outside in intermittent
bursts via a drainage socket�
 This drain valve does not protect the water container
against frost damage� FrostControl can be retrofitted
for this purpose�

5.5.4 Opening the drain valve
Move the lever to the vertical position "drain"
(Fig� 10-1)�
The water from the water container drains through
the drainage socket (Fig� 10-4)�
The drainage socket of the drain valve must be free of
contamination (slush, ice, leaves, etc�) at all times so
that the water can drain easily�
No frost damage claims may be made under the
warranty.
