WARNING Read all safety instructions, work instructions,
illustrations and technical data for this power tool. Failure to
observe the following work instructions may result in electric shock,
fire, and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The
term „power tools" as used in these safety instructions applies to both
mains-powered (with power lead) and battery-powered tools (without
power lead).
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas in-
vite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or
fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a po-
wer tool. Distraction can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the
plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching out-
lets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces,
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water
entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not use the connection lead to carry the power tool,
hang it up, or pull the plug from the power outlet. Keep
the connection lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and
moving parts. Damaged and entangled connection leads in-
crease the risk of an electric shock.
e) When working with a power tool outdoors, only use ex-
tension leads that are also suitable for outdoor use. Using
an extension lead suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
f)
If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable,
use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use
of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sen-
se when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool
while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power
tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye pro-
tection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid sa-
fety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate
conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the
off-position before connecting to power source and/or bat-
tery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying ower tools
with your finger on the switch or energising powr tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the
power tool on. A spanner or other tool attached to a moving part
of the power tool can cause injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all
times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
f)
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelle-
ry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from movin
parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in mo-
ving parts.
g) If dust extraction and collection devices can be installed,
they must be connected and used correctly. Use of dust coll-

ection can reduce dust-related hazards.
h) Do not become complacent and do not ignore the safe-
ty regulations for power tools, even if you have used this
power tool many times and are used to working with it.
Careless working can lead to serious injury in a split second.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not overload the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job bet-
ter and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on
and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch
is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Pull the plug from the power outlet and/or remove the re-
movable battery before you reconfigure or set down the
power tool or change the attachments. Such preventive safe-
ty measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Do not let anyone use the power tool who is not familiar
with the power tool or who has not read these instructions.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Take meticulous care of power tools and attachments.
Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, brea-
kage of parts and any other condition that may affect the
power tool's operation. Damaged parts must be repaired
before the power tool is used. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f)
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cut-
ting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
g) Use power tools, accessories, attachments, etc., in accor-
dance with these instructions. Taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of
the power tool for operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person
using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that
the safety of the power tool is maintained.
b) Never maintain damaged batteries. All rechargeable battery
maintenance should only ever be undertaken by the manufac-
turer or authorised customer service points.
c) Any replacement needed for the connecting line must be
installed by the manufacturer or its agent if safety risks
aret o be eliminated.
Additional Safety Instructions for Belt Grinders
a) Only hold the power tool using the insulated handles, as
the grinding areas may touch their own connection lead.
Damage to a current-carrying cable can result in voltage being
applied across the metal parts of the tool and cause electric
shock.
Additional Safety Instructions for Battery-Powered Tools
a) Only charge the batteries with the charging units recom-
mended by the manufacturer. Charging units designed for
a specific battery type may pose a fire hazard when used with
other batteries.
b) Use only the batteries specified for the power tools. Using
other batteries may cause injury or pose a fire hazard.
c) Keep the unused battery away from paperclips, coins,
keys, nails, screws, and other small metal objects that
could short the contacts. A short circuit between the battery
contacts may result in fire or burns.
d) Misused batteries can leak liquid. Avoid contact with this
liquid. If there is contact with the skin, wash off with water.
If the liquid touches the eyes, also seek medical advice.
Leaking battery liquids can irritate the skin or cause burns.
e) Do not use batteries that have been damaged or altered.
Damaged or altered batteries can react in an unpredictable
manner and induce fires, explosions or risk of injury.
f)
Do not expose batteries to fire or excessively high tem-
peratures. Fire or temperatures above 130°C may cause an
explosion.
