b) Adjusting tooth backlash

Tooth backlash must be adjusted before the model is used for the first time.
To do this, loosen the two fastening screws of the electric motor so that you can move the motor with slight pressure in
the direction of the main gear wheel (only loosen the screws slightly, do not unscrew them!). The gear box cover needs
to be removed prior to this.
The motor pinion and the main gear wheel now engage with one another backlash-free.
Put a thin paper slip between the motor pinion and the main gear wheel. Then manually turn the main pinion so that
the paper strip is pulled in between the two pinions.
The pressure of the paper pushes back the electric motor as much as necessary. Now fasten the fastening screws of
the motor in this position.
When you turn back the main gear wheel afterwards so that the paper strip can be taken out again, the two pinions
should have the right distance to each other.
Ideally, the motor pinion is as close to the main gear wheel as possible without the teeth touching each
other.
If there is too much distance between the motor pinion and the main gear wheel, the teeth of the main gear
wheel will be sheared off by the motor pinion within a short time - warranty is void!
If the motor pinion presses against the main gear wheel (backlash-free), the main gear wheel will wear out
faster and performance is reduced. Power consumption is increased.
Always check tooth backlash after using the vehicle. Due to vibrations, the motor might as well have come loose or
changed position.
c) Changing the crystal
There must be no other transmitters/models with the same frequency in the range of the transmitter, as these transmitters
interfere with each other. As a result, the models no longer respond correctly to the transmitter commands. If other
models are operated in your range, talk to the other operators to decide what frequencies you use.
Only use suitable accessory crystals for the transmitter and the receiver.
Before changing the crystal, first turn off the vehicle and then the remote control (transmitter).
Transmitter crystals are labelled "T" or "TX", receiver crystals are labelled "R" or "RX". To ensure proper function, do
not mix up the crystals.
