6.3 Exchanging the wire-end ferrule reel
► Open the protective cover.
► Remove the transport unit, see Figure 6.2.
► Unbolt the interlock on the transport unit and pull out the
wire-end ferrule strip, see see Figure 6.5.

► Insert the new wire-end ferrule strip into the transport
unit, see Figure 6.3.
► Proceed as described in see chapter 6.1.
► Check the cross-section on the display and change the
setting as needed.
6.4 Switching on the machine
Condition: The machine is set up as described in see chap-
ter 6.
► Check the following each time before switch-
ing on the machine:
– Is the mains connection cable free from
damage?
– Is the protective cover closed?
► Switch on the machine, see Figure 3.2, 10.
The start screen is shown briefly on the display. Then the
production menu is automatically displayed.

6.5 Insert connector

Only process wires that are cleanly cut. All
strands must end flush with the insulation, no
strands may be shortened or may protrude out.
Make sure that the end of the strand is inserted
straight.

LZ:
► Insert a wire into the insertion funnel.
► Hold the wire tensioned slightly.
► Once processing is complete, pull out the processed
wire.
6.6 Service indicator
Each time the machine is switched on, the service indicator
flashes. Tap the touch display once briefly to acknowledge
the notification. Then the machine is ready for operation.
In order to maintain the performance of the ma-
chine for as long as possible, you should keep to
the scheduled service intervals:
– Minor service after 250,000 work cycles
– Major service after 500,000 work cycles
Contact your local Weidmüller representative.
6.7 Switch off the machine
► Switch off the machine, see Figure 3.2, 10 .
► When you have completed work, empty the waste tray
and re-insert it into the machine, see chapter 7.5.
► Close the protective cover.
Always close the protective cover when the ma-
chine is not in use.
