• Petrol is highly inflammable!
– Only store petrol in containers fit for the
purpose.
– Only refuel outdoors and do not smoke
during the refuelling process.
– Petrol must be topped up before the
motor is started. Do not open the petrol
cap or refill with petrol while the motor is
running or the lawnmower is hot.
– Never attempt to start the motor if petrol
has been spilt. Instead, move the
machine away from the contaminated
area. Avoid all attempts to start the
motor until the petrol vapours have
evaporated.
– For safety reasons the petrol tank and
other petrol caps are to be replaced in
case of damage.
• Replace defective sound absorbers.
• Before use, you must always perform a
visual inspection as to whether the cutting
blade, fastening bolt, and entire cutting
unit are worn or damaged. To prevent
unbalance, worn or damaged cutting
blades and fixing bolts may only be
replaced in sets. Worn or damaged
notices must be replaced.
• In case case of machines with several
cutting blades, please note that the move-
ment of a cutting blade can lead to rota-
tions of the other cutting blades.
Handling
• Do not run the combustion motor in
enclosed spaces in which dangerous car-
bon monoxide can collect.
• Only work in daylight or with adequate
lighting.
• If possible, avoid using the machine when
the grass is wet.
• Always ensure good stability on slopes.
• Only operate the machine at walking
speed.
• Always work across slopes, never up or
down the slope.
• Be especially vigilant when changing
direction on slopes.
• Never work on extremely steep slopes.
• Be especially vigilant when turning or pull-
ing the lawnmower towards you.
• Stop the cutting blade(s) when the lawn-
mower has to be tipped for transport to
another area of the grass and when the
lawnmower is being moved to and from
the area being mowed.
• Never use the lawnmower with a dam-
aged protective device or protective
grilles or without attached protective
devices such as baffle plates and/or grass
catchers.
• Do not modify the control settings of the
motor and do not over-rev it.
• Release the motor brake before starting
the motor.
• Start or press the starter switch carefully
according to the manufacturer's instruc-
tions. Ensure you are standing at an ade-
quate distance from the cutting blade(s).
• When starting the motor, you must not tip
the lawnmower unless it has to be lifted
during the procedure. In this case, tip it
only as far as absolutely necessary and
only lift the side turned away from you.
• Do not start the motor when standing in
front of the ejection channel.
• Never place your hands or feet on or
under rotating parts. Always maintain a
safe distance from the ejection opening.
• Never lift or carry a lawnmower while the
motor is running.
• Remove the ignition key and the spark
plug connector:
– whenever you leave the lawnmower
unattended
– before loosening blockages or stop-
pages in the ejection chute
– before checking, cleaning, or perform-
ing work on the lawnmower
– if a foreign object has been hit
• Look for damage on the lawnmower and
perform the necessary repairs before
restarting and working with the lawn-
mower.
• Turn off the motor and make sure that all
moving parts have come to a complete
stop.
– before refuelling.
• If the lawnmower starts vibrating unusu-
ally strongly, an immediate check is
required.
– Look for damage.
– Perform the necessary repairs of dam-
aged parts.
– Make sure that all nuts, bolts, and
screws are tightened.
• When the motor is shut off, the gas pedal
must be set to the [Stop] position. The
petrol valve must be closed (if present).
