Here is some basic sailing theory to help you sail out and back to shore.

Description
An area 45° on either side of the wind direction where the sailboat
cannot sail into. Sails will flap and the sailboat will stop moving.
Sailing upwind, just outside the "no go zone".
Sailing across the wind. This is the fastest point of sailing.
Sailing downwind at an angle.
Sailing dead downwind.
