Soft joints:
Bolted joint of two or more parts with at least one
of them made of such material or of such design
that it is deformed by the tightening pressure or
offers resilient resistance.
Cordless hand-operated impact screwdriver
IWC 18-2 TEC can tighten bolts with the following
mechanical properties in hard joints:

Depending on the type of parts to be tightened,
every particular case should be tested individually.
Impacts longer than 10 s can no longer cause any
increase of the tightening torque.
WARNING
Smaller bolts can be tightened only in soft
joints the tightening time can be even short-
er than 1 s to prevent bolt damage (average
impact time 2 to 3 s).
► With the use of torsion rods, bolts starting with
size M8 can be tightened.
► It may happen that during screw joints loosen-
ing (rusty screws etc.) even the above indi-
cated maximum impact time (10 s) will not be
suffi cient. In such cases it is advisable to let
the mechanism act intermittently – roughly in
cycles of 10 s impacts and 10 s idle run to let
the screwdriver cool down.
