Ventilation functionality,
Defrosting
The unit is equipped with a defrosting functionality, to protect the exchanger from
stopping, and eventually prevent permanent damage to the unit.
If both:
for 30 minutes or more, the defrosting will start automatically.

The electric heating element has 10 steps. The function of
these steps is to keep the electric heating element lit for 1
to 10 seconds during a period of 10 seconds. The steps
are calculated each 60 seconds according below scheme:
If supply air temperature T2 is lower than T
If supply air temperature T2 is between T
If supply air temperature T2 is higher than T
Fireplace
When igniting the fireplace, it could be a help to stop the HRV 501 exhaust fan in 5
minutes, resulting in over pressure inside the house: The air will then rather escape
through the fireplace and chimney instead, reducing the risk of smoke in the living
room.

The heat exchanger efficiency is low (fx. due to high air flow)

1. Decrease supply fan with 1% each 60 seconds until adequate efficiency is
achieved.
2. If supply fan finally decreases below 20%, it will switch off.
3. When switched off, new measurements are executed every 30 minutes.
4. When the efficiency or outside temp is exceeding the limits, reverse operation
starts, initial supply fan 20% on, and 1% increase each 60 seconds
