Opening

• Turn red knob to OPEN = unlock; this will open the steam release valve. Any residual steam escapes.
• Turn the lid counterclockwise, remove it and tilt it slightly to drain off any residual water.
• To improve drying, remove the basket from the chamber and allow to cool to room temperature
before removing any load.
UNFINISHED/ INTERRUPTED CYCLE: If, for any reason whatsoever, the cycle is interrupted (by
switching off or power failure), the sterilization is not performed properly and must be repeated.
Before opening, the safety instructions for cooling must be followed.

Autoclave - cleaning and maintenance

Never immerse the lid and the lower part in water for cleaning. Wipe the inside and outside with a damp
cloth and polish dry.
Before cleaning/disinfecting, pull out the power cord and clean/disinfect the device only when it is cold.
Disinfectants with the following ingredients are suitable for disinfecting the metal surface: ethanol,
propanol, isopropanol, glutaraldehyde, quaternary ammonium compounds. It is essential to follow the
instructions for use given by the manufacturers of cleaning agents and disinfectants. Plastic surfaces shall
be cleaned with a dry cloth.
If tap water is used, discoloration will occur, or the control accuracy may decrease due to the resulting
lime layer. In addition, the pressure control valve could be blocked. Use the cleaning needle to clear the
clogged steam release valve nozzle from the inside of the lid. This should also be carried out as a
preventive measure.
In case of a severe calcification for decalcification, carry out a complete cycle with water and citric acid,
followed by a cycle with distilled water (without loading). Boil for about 10 minutes and do not close the
autoclave. Empty the chamber immediately after.
We always recommend using distilled water!
Use original CertoClav spare parts only. Repairs on valves, safety features and electric must only be
carried out by an appointed CertoClav partner or by the manufacturer.
Every two years the unit should be checked by an appointed retailer or the manufacturer CertoClav.
