•
Place the lid on the sterilization chamber and turn clockwise until the handles are aligned.
•
Turn the red knob counterclockwise to lock the lid.
We recommend connecting a temperature-resistant hose to the steam release spigot to direct the
•
steam to a condensation container and to prevent danger from hot steam or water. We offer both
under art. no. 8582020.
•
Plug the power cord and heating cable into the control unit. Screw the temperature sensor cable into
the control unit.
ATTENTION: Long-term cycles of more than two hours may result in dry cooking and overheating.
The autoclave will be damaged. Check the water level regularly. Close the steam release spigot -
remove the seal.
Starting a program
Select your desired sterilization program in the control unit and press Start.
For a detailed description of how to operate the control unit, refer to chapter "MC2 Control Unit".
Venting
If the program option "Venting" is activated, the sterilization chamber is vented at 115°C for 10 minutes.
The venting of the autoclave is necessary to achieve an even temperature distribution in the chamber and
optimal temperature transfer.
Sterilization / Autoclaving
•
During sterilization processes, the steam exhaust spigot must remain open for venting, otherwise
there is no pure steam in the chamber.
•
Exclusively for long time cycles close the steam release spigot. The seal may have to be broken for this
purpose. (This does NOT lead to a loss of warranty.) The seal is only used for process security during
sterilization processes, where the steam exhaust spigot must not be closed.
End of cycle – Cooling down
As the last step, the control unit cools down the autoclave to 80°C or 70°C for liquid program. Then an
acoustic signal sounds and the controller displays "program finished". The autoclave can now be opened.
