General safety instructions

Only use in accordance with this instruction manual. Keep the manual in a place accessible to all
users of the device.
Use the autoclave chamber only with the MultiControl 2 Controller. Do not connect directly to the
power supply. The chamber will heat up uncontrolled.
Never manipulate safety devices. Only operate autoclave and controller of the same series. Do
not mix lids and chambers of different types or series of autoclaves.
Surfaces are hot while in operation (metal and plastic parts). Wear protective gloves.
This device must not be use in explosion-hazardous areas.
Do not install the device near high-performance electronics.
Do not install the controller unit closer than 30 cm to a CertoClav autoclave (heat protection).
Only use appropriate material for wall mounting.
Disconnect the power plug before opening the casing.
Operate the controller only as a complete control loop with connected PT100 sensors that can
measure the heating power of the connected heater.
Only use the device with the intended power supply voltage.
Only intended for use in laboratories by properly trained personnel. Do not use in the household.
Never operate without water.
Target water amount: 1,25 liters (min. 1 liter)
Do not autoclave tightly sealed containers (especially glass bottles) since there is no pressure
compensation.
Only use water to generate steam.
Do not release steam in the direction of persons – danger of burning. We recommend connecting
a temperature resistant hose (inner ø 10mm) on the steam release spigot to release hot steam
into a suitable container or sink.
When autoclaving liquids, it is possible to boil the liquid (boiling retardation) if the steam is
quickly drained manually. To avoid this, the autoclave should be cooled down to 70°C at room
temperature without opening a valve.
