Safety instructions

Only use in accordance with this instruction manual. Keep the manual in a place accessible to all users
of the device.
Use the autoclave chamber only with the MultiControl 2 Controller. Do not plug in directly to a power
supply. The chamber will heat in an uncontrolled way.
Never manipulate on safety devices. Operate only controller and chamber of the same series. Do not
mix lid and chamber of different types of autoclaves.
Surfaces are hot while in operation (metal and plastic parts). Wear protective gloves.
Must not be installed in a space that is subject to the danger of explosions.
Do not install the controller close to high power electronics.
Do not install closer than 30cm to a CertoClav autoclave in order to protect the controller from heat.
Use only appropriate material for wall mounting
Do not open the case.
Install the controller only in a full regulating circle where the heat probe PT100 can gauge the activity
of the heater attached.
Use only with rated voltage.
Only for use in laboratories. Operate only by trained personnel. Do not use in domestic settings.
Never operate without water.
Target water amount: 1 – 1,5 liters (min. 0,7L, max. 2,5L)
The CertoClav MultiControl is made of aluminum alloy. Aggressive media and saline solutions will
cause corrosion.
Do not autoclave tightly sealed containers (especially glass bottles) since there is no pressure
compensation.
Only use water to generate steam. We recommend distilled water. DO NOT use demineralized water
from an ion exchanger, this will cause pitting. If only demineralized water is available, mix with tap
water (approx. 1/3)!
Do not release steam in the direction of a person – danger of burning. We recommend connecting a
temperature resistant hose (inner diameter 10mm) to release hot steam into a suitable container or
sink. We offer this hose and container as accessory: Art. no. 8582016 – hose 1.0m
Do not open the autoclave before the acoustical signal shows the end of the cycle and the autoclave is
cooled down to 80°C.
