b) Degree of emission of different surfaces
The emission degrees listed in the table are approximates. Various parameters, such as geometry and surface quality,
may influence the emission degree of an object.
The meter is delivered with a pre-set emission degree of 0.95. It matches for most non-metal materials. The IR
measuring method is only conditionally suitable for blank metals and requires a special surface treatment (e.g. matte
insulation tape, etc.) or pre-setting of the corresponding degree of emission.
