displayed reading.
Ensure good contact between probes and test resistance during the
resistance test. Dirt or other forms of contamination on the test
probes or leads of the resistor may result in incorrect readings.
If the measured resistance value exceeds the selected range, an
overflow "1" is displayed. In this case, set the rotary function switch
(4) to a higher resistance measuring range.
4.4 Capacitance Measurement F
Important Notice!
Be careful to avoid contact with the metallic terminals of capacitors
(electric shock! Danger of injury). In every case, discharge capaci-
tors before taking measurements. Residual voltage from capacitors
may destroy the unit. Do not discharge capacitors by short-circuiting
them; instead use a 100 kΩ resistor to bridge the terminals.
Never contact the measuring cables to a power source, this may
destroy the instrument.
Measuring Procedure for Testing Capacitors
1. Connect the red measuring cable to the V/Ω/F/°C/
the black measuring cable to the COM-Input (8).
2. Set the rotary switch (4) to the position required for capacitance
measurement (2 nF, 20 nF, 200 nF, 2 µF or 20 µF). The setting is
confirmed by the display of unit and measuring range.
3. Connect the measuring probes to the capacitor to be tested and
read the measured value from the display.
Notice:
If you are unsure of or cannot estimate the capacitance of the
measured capacitor, start out with the highest 20µF range.
In the case of electrolytic capacitors always observe correct
polarity.

4.5 Continuity Test

This function enables you to check electrical circuits, cables or
components for continuity.
