Emergency release

If loss of power or a centrifuge fault occurs while the centrifuge is running, the lid remains locked.
To release the lid in an emergency, unplug the centrifuge from the power.
Wait for the rotor to stop turning before opening the lid.
To release the lid in an emergency use the plastic release pin, attached at the bottom of the centrifuge.
Important: Use only the attached pin to release the lid.
The release pin is fixed with a clamp at the bottom of the centrifuge and tied to it with a plastic cord.
1.
Pull out the release pin and uncoil the cord, see drawing.
2.
Insert the release pin horizontally into the hole located in the middle of the front panel, see drawing.
3.
Push the release pin to the right, then up to a 45° position. Pull the lid upwards at the same time to unlock, see
drawing.
4.
Pull the release pin out and recoil the cord around the clamp. Refasten the release pin as shown below.

Care / maintenance

Pull the mains plug before cleaning.
Before applying any cleaning or disinfecting procedure other than those recommended by the
manufacturer, the user should contact the manufacturer to make sure that the planned process will not
damage the equipment.
The centrifuge should be cleaned regularly for reasons of hygiene, and if necessary should also be cleaned with
soap or a mild cleaning agent.
Any adherent impurities should be removed as they can cause corrosion.
Humidity in the air or centrifuge containers with no hermetic seal can lead to condensation. The centrifuge
chamber should therefore be cleaned regularly with a cloth or similar.
In the case of glass breakage, the fragments of glass along with any spilt centrifuge product should be removed
carefully from the centrifuge chamber, the containers or container drill holes.
After a glass breakage the rubber inserts for the containers must be replaced because any residual
glass fragments in these inserts can cause further glass breakage.
If any infectious material should find its way into the centrifuge chamber it should be disinfected immediately.
The cleaning and disinfectant agents used should be in a pH range between 5 and 8 (Helipur H plus N, B. Braun
Melsungen). Alkaline cleaning agents with pH value > 8 should be avoided.
In order to prevent appearances of corrosion through cleaning agents or disinfectants, the application guide from
the manufacturer of the cleaning agent or disinfectant are absolutely to be heeded.
