Instruction Manual
Two compressed-air cylinders control the vertical movement of the
spindle casing. The primary side is used for the up-movement and
the secondary side for the down-movement. There is only pressure
on one side at a time.
Pressure on the secondary side is set manually with the pressure
regulating valve on the front of the apparatus and the connected
manometer has a scale for compressive force (Newton).
A magnetic valve (which, when in normal position ventilates the
cylinders through an adjustable throttle valve) admits air from the
pressure regulating valve to the cylinders.
Pressure on the primary side comes direct from the compressed-air
supply and a magnetic valve which - when in normal position -
ventilates the cylinder's primary side through a throttle valve by which
the downward movement speed can be regulated - admits air to the
cylinder.
The upward movement speed is limited by a fixed throttle bush in the
magnetic valve tube.
When the main switch on the apparatus is not activated, the
cylinders - on account of their own weight - will enter middle position
where the spring counter-balances the spindle housing with motor.
The compressed air is cleaned through a manually operated water
separator with filter (5-8 µm).
