TMD 834

1 Introduction

The Profigrad TMD 834 is a microprocessor based head mounted transmitter for
temperature measurement.
The TMD 834 is an instrument that converts a resistance bulb change or a
Thermocouple generated mV signal into digital information.
Otherwise generated Ohm or mV signals are also accepted as input signals.
Digital technology allows the TMD 834 to accept the following inputs with a single set
of electronics:
• Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100
• TC
• Ohm
• mV
The TMD 834 transmitter is available as standard or Intrinsically Safe design.
The TMD 834 operates using a 2-wire principle within the PROFIBUS-PA fieldbus
digital communication standard.
Configuration is carried out easily, quickly and reliably through the supervisory system
or via Personal Computer with a Profibus interface and configuration software.
Working parameters such as input element selection, measurement range and span,
input filter, bias and other settings are user selectable by means of the serial
communication. Calibration and set-up data are stored in an EEPROM, and therefore
the transmitter can be delivered already configured by the Factory according to
customer's specifications.
