Disconnecting the battery charger

Caution – risk of damage

Do not cause a short circuit when disconnecting the charger.
➤ Switch off battery charger.
To do this, move the switch (fig. 7 4, page 5) to the middle
position.
➤ Disconnect the black negative terminal of the battery charger.
➤ Disconnect the red positive terminal of the battery charger.
➤ Disconnect the 230 V power plug from the mains.
If the battery is a non-maintenance-free battery, you must also
carry out the following two steps:

Avoid coming into contact with the battery fluid.
➤ Check the fluid levels of the battery cells.
If the fluid is below the minimum level in one or more cells, fill
distilled water in up to the filling mark.
Never use normal tap water.
➤ Close the opened sealing caps on the battery cells.
➤ Grease the battery terminals with a little terminal grease to
protect them from corrosion.
➤ Reconnect the battery to the vehicle.
