5. Installation
The vaporizer may be incorporated into a back bar
cissembly, on a Selectatec Manifold, used on a table-top
stand or mounted on a clamp fitted to the frame of the
anaesthesia apparatus.
Back Bar
The vaporizer should always be mounted between the
flowmetering unit and the patient breathing circuit — but
upstream of any absorber or humidifier.
Check the integrity of the fittings to ensure that they are
leak tight etc. If in doubt advice should be sought from the
manufacturer of the equipment to which the vaporizer is
attached.
Unless otherwise specified, aU vaporizers are supplied as
standard with 23 mm Cagemoimt fitting inlet and outlet
tapers:

DO NOT CARRY THE VAPORIZER BY THE CONTROL

HANDLE WITH CARE
TO AVOID POTENTIAL LEAKS, BEFORE MOUNTING ON
THE SELECTATEC MANIFOLD CHECK THAT TOE
MANIFOLD PORT VALVE 'O' RINGS ARE INTACT AND
THAT THERE IS NO FOREIGN MATTER AROUND THE
MATING SURFACES.
Mounting a Vaporizer
To Mount a Vaporizer
1)
Check the mounting port valve 'O' rings are intact
and not damaged, renew as necessary.
2)
Make sure the vaporizer control knob is in the 'off
position.
3)
Make sure the vaporizer locking lever is at the
"unlock" position.
4)
Carefully lower the vaporizer onto the manifold
location so that the vaporizer's conversion block
covers the two manifold port valves.
5)
To lock the vaporizer onto the manifold, turn the
locking lever to the "lock" position.
