9 Maintenance and cleaning
9.2 Pre-filter
The pre-filter consists of the following components:
1 Spring clamp

The pre-filter cannot be cleaned; it must be completely replaced. The filter pad (2) is the most important element. When
replaced regularly, the service life of the primary filter is prolonged.

2 Filter pad
Action
1 Switch off the welding fume extraction system at
the On/Off switch (4).
2 Pull out the mains plug.
3 Unlock and open the service door using a square
wrench.
4 Remove the pre-filter.
5 Remove the spring clamp (1) and filter pad (2).
6 Dispose of the filter pad (2) in accordance with local
regulations.

7 Insert the new filter pad.
8 Insert the spring.
9 Insert the pre-filter in xFUME FLEX.
10Close the service door and lock it using a square wrench.
