Lanyard Cord
The lanyard cord is a sepa-
rately available, strong cord
which can be used if the
amputee requires help in-
serting the pin into the lock.
The pin of the WJT 8 featu-
res a continuous longitudinal
drill hole.
To install the lanyard cord,
make a knot at the proximal
end of the pin, then screw
the pin into the liner. (There
is enough room in the pin to
accommodate this.) Then,
lead the cord through the
WJT 8 Lock System

socket to the distal end of
the socket, and thread the
cord through and out of the
lock. Now the user can don
the liner and pull it into the
lock using the lanyard cord,
until the pin locks into the
first level of the lock. The
user then locks the liner
fully into place by putting
weight on the prosthetic
socket with the residual
limb, as usual.
