Preparation

WARNING
Check the medical device before use. Do not
use the medical device if it is damaged.
WARNING
Use the medical device only within the speci-
fied pressure range and environmental condi-
tions. Observe section "Technical data". Other-
wise, the correct functioning of the medical de-
vice may be compromised.
CAUTION
Risk of patient injury
Always check that the delivered gas type is appro-
priate for the application.
 Remove protective cap from the outlet connec-
tion. Keep for future transport or storage.
CAUTION
If the cap is left on the outlet connection, it may
come off suddenly when the device is connected,
causing injury.

 Turn flow selector wheel (A) to 0. Ensure that it
locks into position.
 Central supply version: Plug connection into the
wall terminal unit (B) until it locks into place.
The gas outlet must point downwards.
 Rail-mounted version: Mount the device to the
wall rail using the rail clamp. Screw the connec-
tion hose to the NIST thread of the rail clamp (C)
using a NIST union nut. Plug the other end of the
connecting hose into the wall terminal unit (D).
 Connect accessories (E). See order list Page 19
for accessories.

Functional check

 Turn selector wheel counterclockwise to set the
maximum flow.
 Check whether there is a flow.

Flow metering

WARNING
Risk of patient injury
Monitoring of oxygen saturation is required, es-
pecially for neonates.
Set the oxygen flow necessary for the patient on the
device.

 Turn selector wheel to set flow.

 Set flow to the mark.
CAUTION
Make sure that the selector wheel is always locked
into position. No flow will be delivered if the selector
wheel is between two positions.
NOTE
The flow regulator does not show if there is a flow.
