Preliminary remark
Unfortunately, an absolute atmos-
pheric pressure value on its own can-
not tell us anything at all about the
weather. Thunderstorms, rain, gales
and calms are all possible at any
given air pressure.
There is, however, a very close rela-
tionship indeed between the extent
and direction of change in atmos-
pheric pressure per unit of time - i.e.
what meteorologists call the 'pres-
sure tendency' - and the way the
weather develops.
In short, wind and weather are
shaped by how fast the air pressure
changes! However, latidude plays a
part here as well - the further away
one is from the Equator, the less will
be the wind speed likely to result
from a given pressure tendency.
Your

changes very clearly, both in terms of
time and of pressure. The pressure
tendency is indicated in hPa per hour
(N.B. hPa = hectoPascal).
