5.2.1 Setting the date and time
Enter the date: DD-MM-YYYY
Time: HH-MM-SS
5.2.2 Setting the operating location height above sea level
(ALTITUDE)
The unit is factory set to the atmospheric pressure value at sea
level. It is possible to adjust the atmospheric pressure to the rele-
vant operating location height above sea level.
Enter the operating location height above sea level (ALTITUDE):
0000 m
(To enter from 0 - 2000 m is possible)
5.2.3 Setting the relevant atmospheric pressure (ATM.PRESS)
Maladjustment can occur through knocking or jolting. However
this can be corrected. As a rule the absolute accuracy of the pres-
sure values is insignificant unless the user intends to use the unit
for wind forecasting by means of isobars.
Correcting the atmospheric pressure should be carried out after
the operating location height above sea level has been entered,
and is intended for fine adjustment.
Enter the atmospheric pressure (ATM.PRESS) 0000.0 hPa *
(To enter from 950 - 1070 hPa is possible)
A change in the sea level or atmospheric pressure value
release an already traced pressure curve, when the difference
in pressure is more than 10 hPa.

5.2.4 Activating/acknowledging a GALEWARNING, or setting
a response level (DROPRATE)
The automatic gale warning facility can be switched 'ON' or
'OFF'.
When the automatic gale warning facility is activated, observe the
following:
The trigger value (DROPRATE) chosen is very dependent upon
the operating location and the extent of personal experience. The
trigger value is drawn from pressure changes over the last three
hours. The following non-binding standard values apply to:
On open sea: 1.5 - 3 hPa/3 hrs
In wind-exposed areas on land: 1.5 - 6 hPa/3 hrs
In built-up and hilly areas: 3 - 10 hPa/3 hrs
Acknowledging a gale warning:
The gale warning facility reacts with an alternating accoustic sig-
nal.
A battery operated unit, as described in section 3.1, reacts with a
ten second long continuous signal every ten minutes. as long as
the gale risk exists.
An externally powered unit, as described in section 3.2 and 3.3,
reacts with a continuous accoustic signal as long as the gale risk
exists, and it is not acknowledged.
