Select [Video Output] and press ENTER or
the [Video Out] submenu.
A. Press ENTER to confi rm.
B. Press SETUP to leave the setup menu.
Note: The composite video and S-video output are
always available.
[S-Video]: Select S-video if you have connected the
DVD player to the television set via the composite
output.
[YUV]: Select YUV if the DVD player is connected to
the television set via the YUV output.
[Y Pb Pr]: Select this if the DVD player is used with
progressive scan.
Note: If you have selected the menu item YPbPr and
your device does not have progressive scan, you will
only see a blank screen. In order to alter this setting,
please read the section "No Picture" under "Troubles-
hooting".

Audio Setup

With the help of the audio menu you can set the ana-
logue and digital audio outputs according to the auxiliary
devices connected to the player. If you have connected
the player to the television set via a stereo audio socket
for example, you should set Dolby Digital and other
settings to 2-channel in order to obtain optimum stereo
sound.
- You can set the audio format for each of the following
sources: Dolby Digital, MP3, CD and others.
- DVD playback must be stopped to carry out the
audio settings.
AC-3 Settings
Please follow the steps stated below in the following
order to set analogue and digital audio formats for out-
going Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks:
A. Press SETUP in stop mode.
B. Select AUDIO and press ENTER.
C. Select AC3 and press ENTER.
D. Setting the analogue output:
6-channel (preset): for playing back Dolby Digital 5.1
channel audio sound via the analogue 5.1 channel
audio outputs, e.g. with a 5.1 channel amplifi er.
2-channel: for playing back 2-channel stereo sound
via the stereo audio outputs, e.g. with a VCR or TV.
E. Setting the digital output:
PCM (preset): for playing back 2-channel digital
sound via optical/coaxial digital audio outputs, e.g.
with MiniDisc recorders.
RAW: for playing back the 5.1 channel digital bit-
stream via optical/coaxial digital audio outputs, e.g.
for an external amplifi er with a Dolby Digital decoder.
OFF: for deactivating the Dolby Digital decoder.

• PCM stands for Pulse Code Modulation and is a
standard 2-channel stereo format used for audio
CDs.
MP3 Settings
Follow the steps below in the following order to set the
outgoing digital audio format of MP3 tracks (note: the
analogue format is set to 2-channel):
A. Press SETUP in audio mode.
B. Select audio mode and press ENTER.
C. Select MP3 and press ENTER.
D. Set the digital output: PCM (preset): for playing back
2-channel digital sound via optical/coaxial digital
audio outputs, e.g. with MiniDisc recorders. OFF: for
deactivating the Dolby Digital decoder.
E. Press SETUP to store and leave the menu.
