Connecting the
appliance
d Attention!
Connect the appliance only to 220
240 V/50 Hz alternating current
via a correctly installed earthed socket.
The socket must be fused with a 10 A
fuse or higher.
The socket to which the appliance is
connected must be easily accessible.
d Attention!
If the appliance is to be operated in
a non European country, check on the
rating plate whether the indicated voltage
and current type correspond to the values
of your mains supply.
The rating plate is located in the appliance
at the top right hand side. The mains
connection cable may be replaced by an
electrician only.
Before switching on the appliance for the
first time, clean the interior of the appliance
(see "Cleaning the appliance").
i Note
When the appliance has been connected
to the power, the green mains indicator
light comes on (Fig. 2/4). When the door
is open, the interior light comes on
(Fig. 2/2).
After installing the appliance, wait at least
½ hour before switching on the appliance.
During transportation the oil in the com
pressor may have flowed into the refriger
ation system.
Switching on the appliance
•
Using a coin, rotate the temperature se
lector (Fig. 2/1) in a clockwise direc
tion from the "0" position.
The appliance starts refrigerating.
Setting the temperature
Settings on the temperature selector
(Fig. 2/1):
- Position 0": Appliance switched off
(temperature selector engaged)
- Position "1": Low cooling capacity
- Position 5": Maximum cooling capacity
When switching on the appliance for the
first time, set the temperature selector
between 2" and 3". The temperature in
the refrigerator compartment will then be
between +8 and +12 °C (depending on
the ambient temperature and load).
If colder or warmer temperatures are
required:
•
Adjust the temperature selector step
by step in 24 hour intervals.
d Attention!
The storage temperature should not fall
below +6 °C.
Using the thermometer
Activate the digital thermometer:
•
Pull out the small plastic strip on the
back of the digital thermometer.
The temperature is displayed in °C.
i Note
If a lot of drinks are placed in the ap
pliance, it may take several days until the
thermometer, dropping slowly but
continuously, indicates a constant
temperature.
The lower thermometer indicates a slightly
lower temperature caused by the
temperature layers which occur.
