Console keypad – Default key programming
The console keypad features 12 programmable keys with removable
keycaps and labels. The keypad comes with features already
programmed on the keypad. Apply the labels as shown below,
depending on the Release of your console.
If you have Release 3.0 or higher, apply the programmable key
labels as follows:
SCRATCH
PAD
PHONE
BOOK
*BLF = BUSY LAMP FIELD
If you have Release 2.1 of the console, apply the programmable key
labels as follows:
SCRATCH
PAD
PHONE
BOOK
*BLF = BUSY LAMP FIELD
If you have Release 2.0 of the console, apply the programmable key
labels as follows:
SCRATCH
PAD
PHONE
BOOK
You can reprogram keys to different locations, assign other features
to them (for example, Emergency Calls), or disable keys that are not
required. For programming instructions, see Firmkey Programming in
the 5550 IP Help.
When removing keycaps to change labels, grasp the keycap
between your thumb and forefinger, and then lift. If necessary, use a
screwdriver or other tool to gently pry off the keycap. When replacing
the keycap, push down firmly to seat it onto the key.
