Installing the 5550 IP Console application
software
Before you begin the installation, make sure no programs are
running that might conflict with the installer program.
Administrative privileges for Microsoft Windows are required to install
the 5550 IP console software.
Contact your techincal support specialist should you encounter any
difficulties during installation.
To install the 5550 IP Console application software:
1. Verify that the Mitel Communications Director (MCD) has been
programmed to recognize the console. For information, see the
MCD System Administration Tool Help.
2. Verify that Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 is installed
on the PC. If it is not installed, install it before proceeding to the
next step.
3. Log on to Mitel OnLine.
4. Move your cursor over Technical and then click Software
Downloads.
5. Click on Mitel Communications Director and click on 5550 IP
Console.
6. Locate the software you want to install by following one of the
steps below:
• Either click on 5550_XXXX_Full_CD.zip to download the full
OR
• Or, if you know which console version is required, you can
scroll down to Console load per 3300 software releases and
select the appropriate software to download.
7. When you click on the software to download, a "Disclaimer" is
displayed that prompts "I agree..." or "I disagree". Click the
approriate response.
8. Select a location on your PC to store the downloaded software.
9. If you downloaded 5550_XXXX_Full_CD.zip, you can create a
CD.
10. Execute the software by following one of the steps below:
• Insert the 5550 IP Console software disk that you created in
step 9 in the CD-ROM.
