General Safety Precautions

IMPORTANT!
Read and observe all safety precautions.
The device uses a voltage range that can pose a hazard
for humans and animals. It must only be opened and/or
disassembled by authorised personnel. Similarly, main-
tenance and repairs must be performed by a qualified
electrician or an authorised repair shop. The owner/ope-
rator operates the device on their own liability and at their
risk.
Failure to follow the following safety instructions can
lead to electric shocks, fire and/or serious head injury.
The term "power tool" in all of the warnings listed below
refers to the mains-operated tool (with cable) designated
as the "Wall sander Spider XS".
Keep these instructions safe.
Safety at the workplace
Keep the workplace clean and well ventilated. Cluttered
working environments and poorly illuminated areas can
result in accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive environments,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or
dust.
Power tools create sparks which can ignite dust or
vapours.
Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while opera-
ting a power tool.
Electrical safety
Earthed tools must be plugged into an outlet properly
installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and
ordinances. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use
any adapters. Check with a qualified electrician if you are
in any doubt as to whether the outlet is properly earthed.
Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased
risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
Translation of the original instruction
Do not use the connecting cable for purposes other than
those intended. Never use the cord to carry the tools or
pull the plug from an outlet. Keep the cable clear of heat,
oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged cables should
be replaced immediately by a qualified electrician. Dama-
ged power cords increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a power tool outside always use an
extension cable that is suitable for outdoor use. The-
se cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of
electric shock.
Personal safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common
sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power
tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol,
or medication. A moment of inattention while operating
power tools may result in serious personal injury.
Use safety equipment. Always wear safety glasses. Safe-
ty equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes,
hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate condi-
tions will minimize the risk of personal injuries.
Avoid accidental starting. Make sure that the on/off
switch is in OFF position before plugging in. Connecting
tools whose switch is set to "ON" can lead to accidents.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the
power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rota-
ting part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper tooting and balance at all
times. Proper footing and balance enable better control of
the tool in unexpected situations.
Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
Do not overload the device or its accessories and only use
the device for its intended application.
Do not use electrical tools if the switch is faulty. Any
power tool that cannot be switched on or off is dangerous
and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source before making
any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the
tool. This safety measure will prevent the tool from star-
ting accidentally.
