Speed control
The speed of the tool can be varied to suit different tas-
ks. It can be adjusted from 650/min up to 1,300/ min
by using the thumb wheel. Turn this wheel clockwise to
increase the speed and anti-clockwise to decrease the
speed.
Generally, you should use the higher speed for fast stock
removal and the lower speed for fine processing.
The cover cutout segment:
The sanding plate cover is equipped with a removable
cutout segment. This is to allow the operator to sand right
up to the edge or into a corner.
Dust collection is not ideal if the cutout segment is remo-
ved; it should thus only be removed if necessary and then
replaced immediately.
To remove the segment first switch off the tool and then
unplug the power cable.
Then depress the two lugs which hold the cutout segment
in place, and remove the segment from the cover. Put the
segment in a safe place where it will not be lost or dama-
ged when it is time to replace it.
To replace the segment, align the centering pins in the
sanding plate cover and snap the lugs in place.
Working with the device
Effective control of this powerful tool requires two-han-
ded operation for maximum safety and control.
It is essential to keep a stable footing at all times, especi-
ally when standing on scaffolding or ladders.
Sanding operations
1. Once the sanding tool, vacuum cleaner have been set
up, and the safety precautions observed, switch on the
vacuum cleaner first and then switch on the device. If you
are using a vacuum cleaner with an integrated automatic
On/Off circuit, simply switch on the sanding tool.
2. For sanding, press the sanding head as lightly as pos-
sible against the surface to be processed, just enough to
keep the sanding head flat against the surface.
3. The best technique is to use overlapping sweeps and
keep the head in constant motion. Never stop too long
in any one place or exert too much pressure, as this will

result in swirl marks. As you gain experience, it will be
easier to achieve excellent results.
NOTE:
Make sure that the utilised sanding medium is suitable
for the particular application. Overly coarse grit may result
in uncontrolled stock removal. In contrast, overly fine
grain will clog too often and result in insufficient material
removal as well as slow work progress.
CAUTION:
Exercise care in areas with pointed projections, nails, etc.
