Before first use

■ Remove all packaging materials from the appliance .
■ Wipe the cooking plate 1 with a damp cloth .
■ Place the base 4 on a heat-resistant and level surface .
■ Place the cooking plate 1 on the base 4 so that it sits firmly and stably .
■ Connect the plug 2 to the power supply . The light ring 6 lights up red to
show that the appliance is connected to the mains .
NOTE
► When you turn the temperature control 5 to "0", the light ring 6 lights
up green ("temperature reached") . In this way, you can check whether the
green light ring 6 is working . The appliance will not heat up when the
control is in this position .
■ Set the temperature control 5 to MAX and allow the appliance to heat up
for about 10 minutes .
NOTE
► During first use, you may notice a small amount of smoke and a slight
odour . This is due to production residue . This is completely normal and
harmless . Provide sufficient ventilation by opening a window, for example .
■ Turn the temperature control 5 to 0 and remove the plug 2 from the mains
socket . The light ring 6 goes out .
■ Wait for the appliance to cool down and then wipe the cooking plate 1
again with a damp cloth .
The appliance is now ready for use .
Making crêpes
CAUTION – RISK OF FIRE!
► You should therefore never locate the appliance close to or underneath in-
flammable objects, especially not under curtains or suspended cupboards .
1) Insert the plug 2 into a wall socket . The light ring 6 lights up red . .
2) Adjust the temperature regulator 5 to the desired temperature level . The
higher the temperature level, the darker the crêpes will be . Wait until the light
ring 6 lights up green . This shows that the appliance has heated up .
3) Add approximately one ladle of batter to the middle of the cooking plate 1 .
