Check the liquid level
Without removing the passenger's seat, you can check the level
(MIN and MAX) of battery liquid through the opening (A - fig. 41) in
the helment compartment.
To access the battery, remove the passenger's seat. Now
remove it, taking care not to damage the wiring harness and
the exhaust tube.
Check that the electrolytic liquid level is between the MIN. –
MAX. notches (for each element). If not, add distilled water.
To top up: unscrew the caps and add some distilled water -
being extremely careful - until it reaches the max. level, then
screw the caps.
• While you install the battery, check that the exhaust tube is
connected and that it comes out from the battery housing
without any folds, clogging or narrowing.
NEVER invert the cable connections.
If the battery remains flat it will be seriously damaged.
Note: we advise you to use safety gloves and goggles while
removing the battery, for example to check the liquid level
or to recharge the battery.
Battery recharging
If you wish to charge the battery yourselves, carefully disconnect
its wires and take it out of the battery compartment.
The battery must be recharged in ventilated environments.
Always check the level of liquid and if necessary add distilled
water.
Always remove the element caps.
Disconnect the cables so as to avoid possible oozing of the
electrolytic liquid, which can damage painted parts while the
battery is being recharged.

A
It is good practice to recharge with an amperage power of 1/
10 with respect to that of the charged battery. When you have
recharged it, check the liquid level again and, if necessary, top
up. Then refit the caps.
Reinstall the battery, being careful to connect the positive cable
to the + pole and the negative cable to the - pole.
The battery must always be kept completely charged. During
winter or when the scooter is not used, charge the battery at
least once a month.
• Danger of explosion! Never use naked flames (lighters,
matches, etc.) to check the battery liquid level.
• Never exceed the MAX level notch while topping up with
distilled water.
• Always refit the filler caps on the battery.
• The battery contains sulphuric acid, which is highly toxic.
Avoid any contact with eyes, skin or clothes.
• Keep the battery out of children's reach.
