Safety and use

1. Safety instructions

1.1 The safety information applies to the bed frame
including any associated adjustment mechanisms,
the built-in drives and control components such as
the radio handset.
1.2 Information on bed and drive system
Never allow current-carrying parts to come into
contact with water or other liquids: short-circuit
hazard!
This bed is intended solely for private use and should
only be installed in premises with a relative humidity
of 30 – 60%. Do not use in an environment where
flammable or explosive gases or vapours are likely
to occur.
Due to the associated hazards, technical modifica-
tions and misuses of any kind are strictly prohibited.
The bed may only be connected to an alternating
current supply with a voltage of 230 V/50 Hz. Mini-
mum fuse protection for socket: 6/10 A. The voltage
must comply with the data on the nameplate of the
device. Use sockets with an upstream residual cur-
rent circuit breaker.
Never use damaged mains cables. Replace defec-
tive cables immediately. Do not pull or clamp mains
cables around corners or sharp edges. Do not lay
or hang the mains cable above hot objects. Never
pull the plug out of the socket by the mains cable or
with wet hands.
Take care to ensure that children have no opportu-
nity to play on or near the bed. Children do not
recognise the hazards that may occur in connection
with electrical equipment.
The system is likewise unsuitable for mentally or
physically disabled persons unless they are super-
vised or have been thoroughly familiarised with
the use of the device.
Neither the child safety lock nor the battery-ope-
rated emergency lowering mechanism constitute
safety systems in the sense of hazard prevention.
Especially when retracting the bed, make sure that
there are no objects or limbs of third parties between
the moving parts and under-bed, as this can result in
crushing and injury.

Never open the closing plates during operation: this
can lead to malfunctions and even personal injury.
In the event of faults or suspected defects, remove
the mains plug from the socket immediately. We
cannot accept liability in case of unprofessional
repairs.
1.3 Information on radio handset
The radio handset is only suitable for dry indoor
pre mises and must not be brought into direct contact
with moisture or water.
When changing from cold to warm environments,
let the handset adjust to the temperature for a few
hours to avoid damage due to condensation. Avoid
heat, cold, damp or wet environments and direct
sunlight.
Do not use the handset in the vicinity of any devices
which generate strong electromagnetic fields, as this
may interference with its operation.
Radio signals can penetrate walls and ceilings!
Only use the handset in the room containing the
adjustable bed.
Do not look directly at the torch LED. The LED beam
is highly concentrated and very bright.
Otherwise, please follow the instructions under 1.2.

2. Instructions on use and set-up of the bed

2.1 Noise/creaking
Our bed systems are of course constructed and sized
to prevent noise or keep it to a minimum, so that it
does not become a nuisance.
However, an essential condition for the above is that
the bed is assembled and installed according to the
stages in the assembly instructions.
It is also necessary to ensure that the bed is set up
to be distortion-free and stress-free. Assembly with
one side on the edge of a carpet or on sloping floors
will lead to warping of the bed box and the whole
base and as a consequence to distortion of movable
components such as motor rods and bearings.
Adjust the feet or lay suitable material underneath.
2.2 Pressure points on floors
On soft floors (wood, synthetics, cork, carpet, etc.)
furniture feet may leave pressure marks and
scratches. This can be corrected by gluing felt pads
underneath on smooth floors and, for rough floors,
gluing furniture gliders underneath.
2.3 Indoor climate
Protect your bed from direct sunlight or very bright
light, as no wood or fabric is completely fade-proof.
High-energy neon or halogen light can also lead
to changes in color or material and bleaching.
The ideal humidity in the room should be between
45% and 55%. At lower values, natural materials
become brittle and synthetic fibers have a higher
tendency to develop electrostatic charge and
become soiled. Higher humidity values provide
good conditions for mold to form. Please observe
the following:
– Regularly air your bedroom (short, intermittent
periods of full ventilation).
– Take care to ensure sufficient air circulation on
and underneath the mattress, as well as sufficient
ventilation under the boxes of the boxspring. We
advise shaking up bedcovers and pillows regularly
and folding them back for several hours. Do not
replace the bedspread until the bed has been fully
aired.

– In particular, if an additional mattress topper
is used, this must be turned from time to time.
– Take care to ensure enough distance from heaters
and that there is sufficient back ventilation between
the wall and the head section.
2.4 Signs of wear
Even the high-quality surfaces, fabrics and covers
that we use will not stand up to all the stresses of
everyday life. For example, the following may cause
damage or leave traces:
– sharp, pointed objects, such as bracelets, jewelry,
necklaces, hair clips, etc.
– Pet claws
– chemical substances, such as hair dyes, hair gel,
hair spay, make-up, creams and lotions, cosmetics
– Hair grease and sweat, perspiration from persons
regularly taking medication
– alcoholic liquids and fruit juice
Do not cut pulled threads, but draw them to the
inside. Once a thread is broken, this will create
a hole in the cover!
Signs of wear of this type are excluded from
warranty and give no grounds for a claim.
2.5 Discoloration by clothing or bedlinen, pilling
We can accept no liability for the colorfast qualities
of other bedding and cover materials, which may
transfer to the upholstered bed. This has nothing
to do with faults in the bed cover material, but with
defects in the covers or bedlinen used.
Pilling refers to the formation of little bobbles on
fabric, generally caused by the friction of different
fabrics rubbing together (non-genuine pilling), e.g.
bedlinen. The tendency to pilling can be increased
by a moist atmosphere and/or electrostatic charge.
This is a typical quality of these goods and not a
defect. Pilling can be easily removed with a special
fabric shaver.
