4.15.1 SIDE SKIDS

Adjust the position of the side skids (1-2-3 fi g.35) and roller
until the knives project from the surface formed by the two
skids themselves
This will prevent the knives from digging into the soil even
on irregular ground.

4.15.2 FRONT WHEELS

The machine can be supplied with a pair of front wheels
(fi g.36,fi g.37), or be fi tted with them at a later date. These
wheels are used to adjust the work height and to achieve a
more even cut on irregular ground.
Instructions for adjusting the rear wheels:
- With tractor turned off and parking brake pulled on, slowly
lower the machine (using the hoisting unit) to desired height.
- Set the working height by adjusting the wheels, removing the
holding pin (A fi g.36,fi g.37) and the split pin (B fi g.36,fi g.37).
Raise the wheel to the desired height then replace the pin and
the split pin in the proper hole.
For a correct adjustment, the blades must be ca. 2 - 3 cm
from the surface of the ground.
4.15.3
WEARPROOF PLATE AND COUNTER-BLADE (ONLY FOR BRAVA
MODEL):
The wearproof plate protects the frame from early wear,
while the counter-blade shreds the chopped crop to an even
fi ner degree.
ASSEMBLY OF THE WEARPROOF PLATE/COUNTER-BLADE KIT (ONLY
FOR BRAVA):
Proceed as described below to assemble the wearproof
plate/counter-blade kit:
- Procure the tools required: hammer and pin-driver/punch.
(See fi g.38)
- Punch the areas marked by the dotted lines (See fi g.38)
- Having made the holes, fi x the components in place with
the relative nuts and bolts. (See fi g.39). Pay attention to fi x
the bolts with their heads placed internally.
WARNING
All work must be carried out with the machine standing
on a fl at surface in the workshop, and using suitable
personal protection equipment: overalls, gloves and
footwear. In case of damage of the holes, it is recommen-
ded to carry out the maintenance operations, removing
the damaged part and closing the hole with screws
M10X25 (cod.F01010244) and nuts M10 (cod.F01220034),
so that they are always closed during the work. If the
wearproof plate was removed, close the remaining holes
with screws M10X25 and M10 nuts
4.15.4 COLLECTING RAKES KIT
These are used for picking up pruning remains that have not
been chopped by the machine as it passes, holding them under
the bonnet so that they can be shredded again. The pickup
teeth can be raised or lowered but must not touch the ground,
thus their position depends on the terrain on which the work
takes place.
If there are large twigs on the ground, the teeth must be set in
a higher position.Vice versa, if the twigs are small, the teeth
must be lower so that they are able to pick up any twigs that
are not shredded.
