Ground speed
- Remember that the tractor's ground speed must be regu-
lated to suit the type and quantity of material being cut
as an excessive speed will damage the transmission
components and make them quickly wear out.
This will result in a poor quality cut while coarse material
could be thrown up having overcome the envisaged safety
limits owing to greater inertia.
CAUTION
The speed of the tractor with the machine working must
not exceed 10 Km/hr in order to avoid breakage or dam-
ages (fi g.44).
DANGER
Stones or other sharp objects may be thrown up by the
turning tines during the soil working phase.
Always constantly check that there are no persons,
children or domestic animals in the fi eld of action of
the machine.
The operator must also pay attention to the above.
CAUTION
Avoid idling the machine when away from the ground.
While at work, avoid working in reverse gear or taking
curves with the machine lowered (fi g.46).
Always raise the machine when changing direction or
reversing gears (fi g.45).
During transport, and whenever raising the machine
becomes a necessity, the hoisting unit of the tractor
should be regulated in order that the shredder is never
raised from the ground more than 30-35 cm (fi g.47).
Do not drive on public highways if the machine is dirtied
with soil, grass or anything else that could dirty and/or
hamper the road traffi c.
Lower the machine slowly.
Do not allow it to drop violently on to the ground. To do
this would strongly stress all the machine components
and could damage them.
4.18 USEFUL ADVICE FOR
THE TRACTOR DRIVER
The following are some useful suggestions for problems
which might arise during work.
Excessive cutting of the product to be sheared
- Slightly raise the machine from the ground, adjusting the
height with the wheels (the shredder must not touch the
ground with the blades).
- Increase the forward speed.
Scant cutting of the product to be sheared
- Slightly lower the machine to the ground.
- Reduce forward speed.
- Do not work on ground that is too damp.
Clogging of the rotor
- Ground too wet to work.
- Raise the machine from the ground.
- Reduce forward speed.
