The sensor offers among other the following additional
functions which can be enabled and configured using the
IO-Link parameters:
– Changing the sensor principles:
Diffuse energetic sensor, diffuse sensor with
background suppression, retro-reflective, through-
beam emitter or receiver
– Count function
– Frequency monitor
– Operating hours counter
– Time functions
– Switching output and switching logic configurable
– Lifetime and stress level
– Light Remissivity

These photoelectric sensors may not be used in
applications where personal safety depends on
proper function of the devices (not designed as
a safety component according to EU Machine
Directive). Before commissioning, carefully read
the user's guide.

DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE BEAM!
The CE Mark verifies that our products
meet the requirements of the current
EMC Directive.
In our EMC laboratory, which is accredited by DATech for
testing electromagnetic compatibility, evidence has been
provided that the Balluff products satisfy the EMC
requirements of IEC 60947-5-2.

Installation
Caution!
Do not look into the light beam.
Locate sensor so that it is not possible to look
directly into the light source even during
operation. No other protective measures are
required (Exempt Group per IEC 62471).
The sensor can be attached in three different ways:
– Using two M4 screws and washers with the housing
through-holes
– Using a mounting bracket (available separately)
– Using special clamps (available separately) on the
dovetail of the housing

The switching distance is measured beginning at the
optical window.
The M12 connector can be rotated 270°.
