Process data analysis

The setting process analysis is performed by means of measuring the pulling force and the pulling stroke
during the setting process of the blind rivet. The analysis criteria are the pulling force at the moment the
mandrel is ruptured and the corresponding pulling stroke. A blind rivet fastening is evaluated as OK if the
value pair is located within a predefined evaluating window . If the value pair is outside this window, in
one of the sectors A-H, the connection is identified as not OK, stating the position of the tear-off value pair
in the sectors A-H. Illustration 2 shows the principle of the process analysis.

Putting into operation

Before use, read, pay attention to and carefully keep both the operating and safety instructions. Ensure a
specialist connects the compressed air supply to the riveting tool.
Before putting into operation, connect the tool to the mains voltage (230V) and to the compressed air
supply by means of the power supply included in the scope of delivery. Then, using the connecting cable
included the scope of delivery, connect the tool the PC. The required PC must be operating Windows
2000 or higher, a CPU with a clock frequency larger than 800MHz and a random memory larger than
256MB. Furthermore, for connecting the tool, a serial interface is required. The setting of the serial inter-
face is described in chapter 10.5

Installation of the spent mandrel

Screw the spent mandrel container on to the tool by turning it clockwise.
