Caller Number Display (CLIP Function)

If this function is provided by your telephone service, the number of the caller
appears in the display when the telephone rings. If this phone number is

phone number, the message Withheld appears in the display. The phone
number is not displayed and, as a result, is not stored in the calls list.
Caution: The caller number display function is an optional service
offered by telephone network providers. Contact your network pro
vider for further information.

Private Branch Exchanges / Supplementary Services

The R button on the handset is used in private branch exchanges and for
taking advantage of supplementary services offered by your telephone
network provider.
7.1

R button on private branch exchanges

If the telephone is connected to a private branch exchange, all the functions
associated with the R button, such as transferring calls, automatic call
back, etc., can be used. When used on a private branch exchange, a Flash
time of 100 ms must be set. The dealer where you purchased the exchange
can provide information as to whether the telephone will work properly with
the exchange.
7.2
R button and supplementary services offered by your telephone
network provider
Your SWITEL telephone supports the most important supplementary services
offered by your telephone network provider (e.g. brokering, call waiting,
three-way conferencing, etc.). To use the supplementary services offered by
your telephone network provider, set the Flash time to 120 ms. Please
contact your telephone network provider with regard to enabling the
supplementary services.
7.3

Entering a dialling pause

In the case of private branch exchanges, it is necessary to dial a specific
number (e.g. 9" or 0") in order to obtain the dialling tone for an outside line.
When using some older private branch exchanges, it takes a little time before
the dialling tone becomes audible. Particularly in the case of such private
branch exchanges, it is possible to insert an automatic pause after the
number for the outside line so that the number can be dialled in a continuous
process without having to wait for the dialling tone.
Enter a dialling pause between the number dialled to get an outside line and
the actual phone number to be dialled.
0
Press the button for three seconds
P appears in the display. After dialling the number for the outside line, the
telephone then waits a defined time before dialling the actual phone number.
Note: The pause can also be entered with the phone number in the phone
book.
