9 Retrofittings and accessories

The part no. and year of manufacture of the unit in question are
to be indicated when ordering.
9.1
Fresh water supply
The standard RWN 1500 model can be retrofitted with an auto-
matic kit for automatic operation. This becomes necessary if
water must be constantly available (e.g. for flushing a toilet).
9.1.1
Products delivered
– Electrovalve,
– Float tree and float switch with small switching unit.
9.1.2
Assembly
– Empty cistern,
– Dismantle small switching unit and cables of the float switch,
– Loosen free PG- cable glands around the dome,
– Open dome cover and climb into reservoir,
– Insert float tree with float switch from the inside of the internal
cistern and screw on union stopper, see float switch for dry
run protection already installed.
– Check the float can move freely,
– Thread cable end through PG- cable gland,
– Instal the cable parallel to the dry run protections cable and
fix it with cable strips ,
– Screw tight the PG-cable gland from outside,
– Reconnect small switching unit to free cable end (circuit dia-
gram impressed into the cover of the small switching unit
can be used as a guide),
– Fit electrovalve,
– Check operation of unit and put into operation.
9.2
Wilo filter systems
For filtering the rainwater before it reaches the reservoir. Wilo
filter systems are recommended as protection for e.g. washing
machines and fittings. The satisfy DIN 1986 when correctly
installed. They are maintenance-free and will not become blo-
cked up.
Filter systems available as accessories:
– Filter collector for installation in downpipes,
– Duo-filter for installation in horizontal collector pipes.
9.3
Add-on kit
With the Add-on kit the reservoir volume of the rainwater utility
unit can be increased by connection of further cisterns. The
cisterns capacity is 1700 litres and approximately the same
basic dimensions in contrast to the main cistern (fig. 5).
9.3.1
Products delivered
– Add-on tank,
– 4 spacer clips,
– DN 100 connecting hose,
– 2 hose clamps.
9.3.2 Assembly
The add-on cistern is installed to the left or right of the main
cistern. The tanks are propped against each other with the
spacer clips, secured against tipping over and fixed at a speci-
fic distance for the reliable connection of the connecting pipe.
The connection is made as follows:
– Drain main cistern in accordance with instructions,
– Open the main cistern's support that points towards the add-
on tank,
– Install the add-on tank next to the main tank,
– Push connecting hose onto the connecting sleeves of both
tanks and secure with the hose clamps provided,
– Close the 2nd hole of the add-on tank with the freed filler
plug and secure with the hose clamp,
– Screw the two tanks together with the 4 spacer clips. For
this, the nuts of the bindings at the heads of the tanks must
be unscrewed and the spacers there tightened.
