Activating and deactivating the casting protocol

This program part is only displayed if a connected documentation printer has been recognized when the unit is switched on.
Select the setting for the casting protocol with the enter key „E" as described in chapter 3.1. With the „NEW" key you shift between „extern
(external)", „intern (internal)" and „aus (off)". Select „extern" to send the casting protocol to a conventional, ASCII-compatible printer via the
integrated serial interface. With the „intern" setting you direct the data output to the documentation printer which is available as an accessory. By
selecting „aus (off)" the printout of the casting protocol is avoided.
Confirm your selection with the „E" key or exit the program part with the „C" key without making any changes.

Adjustment of the melting furnace
Select the setting for the furnace adjustment with the enter key „E" as described in chapter 3.1. Press „NEW" in order to change the set value.
Prior to delivery each melting furnace is subject to a test program in which a characteristic number is determined which considers the individual
temperature distribution in the furnace. The characteristic number is enclosed to each furnace and should be set in order to ensure optimum
temperature control and a long service life of the melting furnace.
The characteristic numbers for fine adjustment can be set within the range between 1 and 9. If you do not know the characteristic number of your
furnace, please set the value 5.
Confirm your selection with the „E" key or exit the program part with the „C" key without making any changes.

Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning and maintenance include all types of work which guarantee the proper working state of the Multicast compact.
Within regular intervals check the unit on mechanical damage and correct position of the centrifuge arm, the counterweight as well as the protection
housing.
Immediately remove all contaminations from movable construction parts. This will ensure smooth running and proper function.
Prior to cleaning the unit must be switched off and unplugged.
During cleaning the unit make sure that no moisture reaches into the unit. This will avoid short circuits which may result in a breakdown
or a fire.
In the inside of the unit dangerous voltages are applied. Maintenance work and repair must therefore only be performed by service
technicians authorized by DeguDent.
Manipulations of the unit by the user reduce the operational safety and include the risk of damage to persons and materials.

Elimination of errors

5.1

Fuse breaks the circuit

During activation or start of the unit the external domestic fuse breaks the circuit.
The starting current exceeds the operating current by far. Therefore it must be checked whether too many devices are operated in the electric circuit
of the casting unit. Preheating furnaces e.g. consume a lot of energy.
During activation or start of the unit the internal fuse breaks the circuit.
The unit fuse is located next to the power switch and is reset by pressing in the button. Breaking the circuit indicates a defect of the unit which must
be eliminated by a service technician authorized by DeguDent.
5.2

Temperature display

During heating up of the furnace the temperature is not displayed correctly or the value varies strongly.
Remove the centrifuge arm as described in chapter 2.2. Check the contacts at the unit and the centrifuge arm. If required, clean the contacts with
fine abrasive paper (grain size 400-800).
