The casting speeds can be varied within a range of 350 rpm to 450 rpm. Due to that, the unit can be easily adjusted to the individual investment
compounds, alloy types and dental technical objects.

Putting the unit into operation

2.1

Installation of the unit

Place the Multicast compact on a flat, stable surface.
As it is common for centrifugal casting machines, a unit slightly jerks when it is started. Therefore the unit must be placed on a flat, stable
surface to avoid that the unit will get out of place.

Exchanging the centrifuge arm

With the accessory „centrifuge arm for flame melting" that is available separately the Multicast
compact can be easily converted to melting with the open flame.
For this purpose remove the central fixation screw with the hexagon key that is supplied together
with the „centrifuge arm for flame melting".
Remove the centrifuge arm by pulling it upward and place the new centrifuge arm on the drive shaft
as shown in figure 2.
It must be ensured that both driving pins of the drive shaft engage in the respective borings
of the centrifuge arm.
Insert the central fixation screw again and tighten it with the help of the enclosed hexagon key.
2.3

Adjustment of the counterweight

Prior to each casting process the counterweight must be adjusted to the casting ring size that is used. Only in this way smooth running of the
machine is ensured.
A counterweight that is not correctly adjusted may causes strong vibrations and leads to the fact that the unit gets out of its original
position.
The lock-in positions on the centrifuge arm are matched with the DeguDent casting ring system (1x, 3x, 6x, 9x). For readjustment of the
counterweight press in the locking knob and slide the weight to the desired position with the locking knob pressed in. Please ensure that the
counterweight engages in the desired position, i.e. the locking knob projects again from the counterweight.
A counterweight that is not locked may shift its position in an uncontrolled way, cause strong vibrations and lead to the fact that the unit
gets out of its original position.
In the locked position fine adjustment of the counterweight can be carried out by lifting and turning the outer adjusting ring (see figure 2). It must be
ensured that the adjusting ring engages in the preselected position i.e. the locking knob projects from the counterweight.
For heavier casting rings or large alloy quantities the positions +1 and +2 must be selected; for lighter casting rings or smaller alloy quantities select
the positions -1 and -2. Reading is performed at the center axle of the centrifuge arm.

Casting with the centrifuge arm for electric melting

Turn on the unit with the power switch on the right side of the unit. The display
the control element you will now be requested to enter the furnace temperature.
Enter the desired furnace temperature with the keys of the numerical block
1450 °C.
If, e.g., you wish to have a furnace temperature of 900 °C, enter the figures 0900. After pressing the last key, the entry is automatically completed.
You may also confirm the value in the display by pressing the „E" key.
If you have made an error you can change the current entry at any time by pressing the „C" key, or return to the previous input field after completing
the entry.
After preselecting the furnace temperature a further fusion time in seconds can be entered. With the activation of the casting readiness the further
fusion time is automatically started with the „Gießen (cast)" key
When the entry of the further fusion time has been completed, the casting speed is requested. Preselect a speed that is suitable for the casting
object. The speed can be adjusted between 350 rpm and 450 rpm. In the case of phosphate-bound investment compounds we recommend a speed
of 450 rpm. Due to the lower compressive strength of plaster-bound investment compounds, a lower speed, e.g. 350 rpm should be used.

after the alloy has melted. It can be selected in a range from 0 to 255 seconds.
