Use only recommended accessories. The use of accessories which are not
recommended by the manufacturer may present a risk of personal injury.
•
Check that the tool conforms to current safety regulations. Repairs to the tool
should only be carried out by a tradesman using original spares; otherwise the tool
could cause accidents and personal injury.
Specific Safety Rules
Before starting the tile saw
•
Place the tile saw on a firm, level surface.
•
Make sure that the power switch is set on 0 before connecting the tile saw to
a wall socket. Only connect the tile saw to an earthed wall socket.
•
Make sure that the blade is well-centred and undamaged before starting work.
•
Only use tile cutting blades/discs with an outside diameter of 150–180 mm and
a bore of 22.2 mm and which are approved for use at the maximum speed of
the tile saw, i.e. 3000 rpm.
•
Do not overtighten the spindle nut.
•
Protect the cutting blade from moisture and blows.
•
Make sure that the cutting blade can rotate freely before starting the tile saw.
•
Never use a buckled or cracked blade.
•
Never stop the blade by pressing on it from the side.
•
Make sure that the cutting blade is not in contact with the workpiece or any other
object when the tile saw is switched on.
•
Always wear safety gloves. Never remove waste material from within the work area
whilst the cutting blade is rotating.
•
Never use the tile saw of the safety devices/guards are not fitted or do not work.
•
Always pull the plug out of the wall socket before servicing and adjusting the tile saw.
Whilst operating the tile saw
•
Make sure that the water tray is always full whilst working.
•
Never use the tile saw without the blade guard in place.
•
Never stand in line with the cutting blade when turning the tile saw on.
•
Pull out the plug if the tile saw is left unattended.
•
Adopt a steady stance and hold the workpiece firmly in both hands.
•
Do not exert lateral pressure onto the blade.
•
Be aware of the power cable when using the tile saw. Do not let it come into
contact with any moving parts.
•
Use a push stick to feed small workpieces against the blade. Do not saw tiles that
cannot be handled safely.
