ATTENTION!
While the spray gun is connected to the air supply, the air
micrometer fixing screw, Art. No. 3624, must not be removed.
When the fixing screw is removed, the spray gun must not be
put into operation.
5. Reduction of the Material Volume
By screwing in the material flow control screw the material
volume oozing and thus the needle stroke can be steplessly
reduced (loosen counter nut, adjust control screw and tighten
counter nut again).

6. Work method

After discharging air, open cup lid by turning it to the left. It is
not necessary to unplug it from the air hose. Remove anti-drip
device, fill in material to be sprayed. Insert anti drip device, put lid
onto the cup and shut tightly by turning it to the right.
Please note: For spraying horizontal or upright objects: Ventilation
drilling of the anti-drip device must be on back. For overhead
spray jobs: Drilling must be on the front.
Adjust material pressure to requested gauge value by turning the
black control knob which clicks loose when being pulled; then
click-stop control knob again by pushing it. Briefly open pressure
regulation screw at the discharge valve and close again; watch
pressure gauge to see if the required pressure is built up again;
adjust if necessary. During work it must be kept in mind to move
the gun parallelly to the object at a variable spraying distance,
depending on the material used and the cup pressure adjusted.
The material adjustment is to be done without thinner, i.e. in the
highly viscous state; when using water-borne paints, it is possible
to work without thinner.

7. Maintenance Work

7.1. Changing the Nozzle Set
When shifting from one nozzle size to another, always change
the complete nozzle set, consisting of air cap, paint nozzle and
paint needle (assemble paint nozzle before paint needle).

7.2. Changing the Self-Adjusting Seals
a)
After loosening the packing screw (pos. 3582) with the
included socket wrench (Art. No. 3756) the needle packing
can be removed.
b)
For replacing the complete seal retainer (Art. No. 83741) for
the air piston rod, first remove paint needle and trigger; pull
out air piston rod, and unscrew the complete seal retainer
(Art. No. 29629) with a hollow key SW 4. Screw in new seal
retainer , and tighten. Slightly grease air piston rod and
assemble again; then fix trigger and paint needle.

8. Cleaning and Maintenance

ATTENTION!
When using solvents and cleaning liquids based on halogen-
ated hydrocarbons, e.g. 1.1.1-trichlorethylene and methylene
chloride, chemical reactions can occur, affecting the aluminium
cup, the gun body as well as all galvanised components (small
amounts of water added to 1.1.1-trichlorethylene lead to the
formation of hydrochloric acid). As a result, components may
oxidate, and in extreme cases the reaction can be even explo-
sive. Therefore, only use solvents and cleaning liquids which
do not contain any of the aforementioned substances. Never
use acids, alkaline solutions / lyes or any sort of stripping
agents for cleaning.
a)
Flush material-conveying parts of the gun thoroughly with
thinner.
b)
Clean air cap with a brush. Never immerse gun in thinner.
c)
Clean dirty orifices with SATA nozzle cleaning needles only.
Never clean with inadequate objects; the slightest damage
affects the spray pattern!
d)
The air control fittings must never be immersed in thinner, or
washed with it - risk of destroying the diaphragms.
e)
Slightly lubricate movable parts.
For having the gun cleaned in a gun washing machine, the air
control fittings must always be screwed off and the cup air hose
removed. Always clean valve screw (back-check valve) thor-
oughly. In case material has penetrated into the air hose, check
the valve for residue and replace the hose.
