and accumulators
Despite the fact that handling batteries and rechargeable batteries in daily life nowadays is a
matter of fact, there are still numerous dangers and problems involved. In particular with LiPo/
LiIon rechargeable batteries with their high energy content (in comparison with conventional
NiCd or NiMH rechargeable batteries) various regulations must be imperatively observed as
otherwise there is danger of explosion and fire.
The helicopter is delivered without rechargeable batteries and without remote control. However,
for safety purposes, we would like to give you detailed information specific to handling batteries
and rechargeable batteries; also observe all information enclosed by the manufacturer which is
specific to the remote control and to the rechargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children.
• Do not let batteries lie around openly. There is a risk of batteries being swallowed by children or pets. In such a case,
seek instant medical care!
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire.
There is danger of explosion!
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries may cause acid burns when coming into contact with skin,
therefore use suitable protective gloves.
• Conventional batteries must not be charged. Danger of fire and explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries,
which are intended for this purpose; use suitable rechargeable battery chargers. Batteries (1.5V) are meant to be
used once only and must be disposed of when empty.
• When inserting batteries/rechargeable batteries or connecting a rechargeable battery pack, please observe correct
polarity (note plus/+ and minus/-). The same applies when charging rechargeable batteries.
• If the device is not used for a longer period of time (e.g. storage), take out the inserted rechargeable batteries of the
remote control to avoid damage from leaking rechargeable batteries.
• Always exchange the entire set of rechargeable batteries in the remote control transmitter. Do not mix full recharge-
able batteries with half-full ones. Always use rechargeable batteries of the same type, the same charging state and
from the same manufacturer.
• Never mix conventional and rechargeable batteries!
• Recharge the rechargeable batteries about every 3 months, as otherwise there may be a total discharge due to self-
discharge, which makes the rechargeable batteries useless.
• Chargers and rechargeable batteries heat up during the charging process. Therefore it is necessary to ensure
sufficient ventilation. Never cover chargers and rechargeable batteries!
