15. Maintenance and Service

a) Changing the Propeller
• The spinner cap (1) is only placed on the propeller shaft and can easily be taken off by gently
pulling it.
• The propeller (2) itself is fixed with a nut, which
can be loosened with the help of a
commercially available 8 mm flat spanner (3).
• After loosening the nut and removing the was-
her (4), the propeller can be taken off.
When placing on the spare propeller, take into
account the form and the anti-clockwise
direction of rotation of the propeller.
• After tightening the screws of the propeller,
you can replace the spinner cap.
You have possibly noticed that the propeller seems to be mounted at an angle when
delivered. However, this is not a manufacturing fault, but is imperative for aerodynamical
reasons.
The intentional „sideward pull" of the propeller to the right prevents the model from
showing a tendency to drift to the left. This is the case although all parts were assembled
entirely correctly and are straight.
To prevent the model from rising too high at full motor speed, the propeller not only
shows this inclination to the side, but also downwards.
Please do not try to change the position of the motor or correct the seemingly „incorrect"
assembly – the strange-looking position of the propeller in relation to the fuselage is
correct!
