Charging the rechargeable battery
The table charger needs to be operated with the included wall supply plug. In the charger com-
partments you can use mignon rechargeable batteries as well as micro rechargealbe batteries
because of the clip contact (5).
• Plug the round DC plug of the power supply unit into the lateral DC bushing (1) of the charger.
Connect the wall power supply with the mains socket (100 - 240 VS ~).
• For mignon rechargeable batteries the clip contact (5) has to be folded upwards, for micro
rechargeable batteries downwards.
• Place the rechargeable batteries into the charger compartment (6) in correct direction of pola-
rity. Pay attention to the information about the polarity inside the battery compartment. The
charging process starts automatically.
• The LED charger display (4) at the top flashes red for each charger compartment that is in use
and signalises „charging". If there is not light, check the polarity immediately and change it if
necessary
• „CHARGING" is shown on the LC display (3) for each
cell individually. The current charging level is displayed
symbolically (empty -> full)
• When the battery is fully charged the LED display swit-
ches to green and beeps four times. Trickle charging
begins. The display in the LC display switches to
„FULL" (rechargeable battery is fully loaded).
• Take the rechargeable batteries out of the charger compartment.
Interrupting the charging process
The charger has a charging switch-off which automatically completes the charging process
when the charging end voltage is reached and switches to trickle charge mode. In this mode, the
rechargeable battery is kept in the full condition, without overcharging or being damaged.
While charging it is perfectly normal for the accumulator to become „slightly"
hot.
Never cover the charger to avoid possible damage (caused by heat accumu-
lation).
Discharging the rechargeable battery
The table charger allows discharging to maintain the rechargealbe batteries. This needs to be
done when the rechargeable batteried do not show full capacity anymore. This occurs when
rechargeable batteries have short operating time. With multiple discharging/charging cycles it
reaches full capacity again by „training".
If there is not light, check the polarity immediately and change it if
necessary
• Press the button for discharging (2) at the top of the device within 1 minute after inserting the
rechargeable batteries in order to start to discharge. The LED display (4) switches to green
and signals the discharging procedure by flashing.
• „DISCHARGING" is shown on the LC display (3) for
each cell individually. The current charging level is
displayed symbolically (full -> empty)
• If the full discharging voltage is reached, the LED display switches off. After all inserted cells
are discharged, the charging process starts automatically and indicates this with a red light.
Defective rechargeable batteries
The intelligent charger electrical system recognises bad or defective rechargeable batteries
automatically and shows this in the LC display.
If the charger symbol dislpays „BAD" the cell is defective
and cannot be charged.
Replace the defective cell.
LED display and meaning
An overview of the charging process is shown on the LED display (4).
The following displays can be shown for each individual charger compartment:
Red LED display
No rechargeable battery.

Possible charging duration
The charging time it takes to reach the charge end voltage depends on several parameters, such
as e.g.
• the capacity (mAh, the larger it is the longer the duration)
• the charging state of the battery (full, half-full or empty),
• the environmental temperature (this should preferably be 20 - 25°C) and
• the general condition (age) of the battery.
The charging duration can roughly be calculated by the simple formula:
rechargeable battery capacity mAh
Charging time =
Charging current in mA
Disposal
Electronic products are raw material and do not belong to the household waste.
When the device has reached the end of its service life, dispose of it in accordance
with the current statutory regulations at the communal collection points. Disposal in
the domestic waste is not permitted.

Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries!

You, as end user are legal obliged (Battery Regulation) to return all used batteries and rechar-
geable batteries; disposal of them in domestic waste is not permitted!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the
following symbols, which indicates that they can not be disposed of in the domestic
refuse. The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are: Cd = Cadmium,
Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead. You can dispose of the batteries/rechargeable batteries
free of charge at your local collection point or everywhere where batteries/recharge-
able batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to the protection
of the environment!
